Subject: Separate monitor for CNC functions

Hi All,

I'd like to have a separate monitor/screen displaying various buttons and functions specific to CNC control (i.e. cycle start, FRO, SRO, M3, M7 etc (see https://www.poscope.com/image/cache/data/ponet-1200x800.jpg)).

My reasoning behind using an external screen for this is so KmotionCNC does not need to be in focus while the machine is running, so various commands can be run without having the KmotionCNC window.

I'd like to use a screen as membrane keyboards with the appropriate buttons are essentially non-existent with the exception I've linked above, and very costly to produce in small quantities.

I'd like to know what the best way to achieve this would be - perhaps a PLC with an HMI sending serial commands, or an arduino with a touch-screen... who knows. Perhaps even an MSP430 running some display.

Any suggestions on what the best route to achieve this would be welcome.

Thanks,

Lindsay
